Former Senior Maryland Insurance Financial Regulator Lester C. Schott, CPA, CFE, Joins Invotex Group’s Insurance Practice

Baltimore, MD - July 6, 2010

Invotex Group, a consulting firm providing insurance, dispute, investigation, insolvency, intellectual property and valuation services, has announced that Lester C. Schott, CPA, CFE, recently retired Associate Commissioner of Examination and Auditing for the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA), has joined Invotex as a Managing Director in the firm’s Insurance Practice.

Schott brings to Invotex more than 30 years of experience with the State of Maryland where his career encompassed key roles with the Office of Legislative Audits and, more recently, with the MIA where he managed a staff of 35 and was responsible for assuring the continued solvency of the insurance industry in the state by overseeing financial examinations, the MIA’s financial analysis function, the licensing of authorized insurers and other entities, as well as the collection of premium taxes, retaliatory taxes and surplus lines taxes.

Schott is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Certified Financial Examiner. He has been active for many years in the Society of Financial Examiners including having served as its President in 2005-2006. He has also been active in proceedings of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
