Philip Ermer, a director with Invotex Group, has 14 years of consulting and management experience in surety claims, insurance claims, forensic accounting, fraud investigation, receivership management and other areas of distressed business evaluation and dispute resolution. Mr. Ermer supports the firm’s consulting services to the legal community in the areas of receivership, bankruptcy, construction and surety claims, and general litigation. Examples of Mr. Ermer’s consulting services with Invotex include managing the claims examination and resolution of $60,000,000 in surety claims filed against the Eastern Indemnity Company of Maryland in Liquidation. Fraud investigations, in both the civil and criminal arenas, have included services to lenders, state agencies, and their counsel and federal prosecutors. He has managed the bankruptcy examination of the largest credit counseling agent in the United States. In addition, Mr. Ermer continues to provide claims and financial analysis to the surety and fidelity industry. His prior experience includes 14 years of corporate surety claim and underwriting experience with major insurance companies. He was a Surety Underwriter with Chubb & Son and Seaboard Surety Company, where he was responsible for evaluating contract and commercial surety risks of a variety of firms seeking surety credit. Such evaluations included analysis of financial capacity, organizational structure and the underlying contract or obligation being bonded. His underwriting skills also extended to D&O, Railroad Protective, Libel & Slander, Mail Coverage and other specialty lines.
