An affiliate of Invotex Group, Mr. Kovacs has more than 30 years experience providing a wide range of services to companies that need assistance in solving financial and operational difficulties. With particular expertise advising companies in the real estate, construction and service industries, he has extensive experience in restructuring real estate transactions, work-outs and bankruptcies, as well as advising and consulting with owners, lenders and/or investors. His experience includes financing more than 50 commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate projects totaling more than $1 billion in construction and permanent loans. He has also headed many historic rehabilitation projects utilizing Historic and New Market tax credits. In the distressed real estate market, he has completed project and financial restructurings with owners, investors and lenders on more than 30 real estate projects and more than $700 million in loans. He also worked on the disposition of a multi-billion dollar portfolio of real estate assets and loans – comprising residential and commercial developments, commercial buildings, housing developments and specialty, retail and mixed-use. In addition, Mr. Kovacs was responsible for the reorganization and restructuring of an $800 million national contracting firm. The project involved restructuring several operating companies, which were re-positioned for divestiture and successfully completed, as well as the turnaround of a specialty manufacturing and installation business, which had experienced several years of operating losses, into a profitable enterprise.
