James Morris is a director with Invotex Group and serves in the firm’s insurance practice. In that role, he is responsible for providing services to the firm’s insurance clients, including state insurance regulators. Mr. Morris has more than 25 years experience in the financial services industry, including more than 10 years experience with the insurance industry, in risk assessment, risk mitigation, operations workflow analysis and design, and audit positions. He has also served as examination liaison between insurance companies and the state insurance regulators. Mr. Morris’ insurance industry experience focuses on risk management and ranges from Director of Risk Management to Director of Financial Controls for large insurance companies. His responsibilities included assessing and monitoring external and internal risk factors and ensuring that the company adopted appropriate risk mitigation strategies as well as analysis, identification and remediation of operating and financial control issues. In addition, as Director of TPA (Third Party Administrator) Audit, he directed and managed a team of audit professionals dedicated to identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring risk associated with the company’s outsourced service providers. These responsibilities included the performance of pre-appointment due diligence reviews, staff and system capability assessments, contractual and service level benchmarking and measurement, and operational audits of the TPAs.
