Jim Gordon, a managing director with Invotex Group, has had a wide range of experience as a consultant to companies in financial and operational difficulties, and he has particular expertise in insurance receiverships as well as providing consulting services to insurance guaranty associations. Over the past two decades, Mr. Gordon has been appointed by several Circuit Courts in Maryland as the Receiver of various entities, including apartment complexes, mental health facilities, quasi-public foundations, securities brokers and non-profit corporations. In most of these insolvencies, he has worked closely with federal and state law enforcement agencies. In addition, he has developed an expertise in the location and recovery of assets in off-shore locations. Mr. Gordon has been a member of committees of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) focusing on insolvency issues. He served as the Secretary of the International Association of Insurance Receivers (“IAIR”) and a member of the Board of Directors for seven years and has presented, moderated and acted as facilitator and team leader at various educational programs sponsored by IAIR, the NAIC and the American Bar Association. He holds the Certified Insurance Receiver designation for property and casualty companies. |
